198 Ezekiel 015 – 017; Acts 15.22 – 15.41

More graphic language in order for “the chosen” to get the point. Jerusalem started believing their own press reports. God called Israel from nothing and made them the envy of other nations. Israel had forgotten their roots. They had come from a trailer park and had been taken to the gated community, but the chosen somehow forgot God had done this for them. They not only forget Yahweh, but they are chasing other gods.

God was not content to just talk about judgment; the Lord wanted Israel to know where it ranked in relation to other sinful nations. Israel is worse than Sodom and her sister cities. Shock! Samaria did not do half the sin Israel is guilty of--Shock! Here is a little salt for that wound. The point is made in a poignant way.

Barnabas and Paul have a heated disagreement over John, known as Mark. Barnabas wanted him to come along on a trip, but Paul did not like his attitude. Barnabas, the encourager took Mark and Paul took Silas. It's okay to have disagreements even over people. Later Paul asks for Mark to come long on a trip. In the end the kingdom of God was served and Mark got better or Paul softened.
